Brockway Motor Trucks was a manufacturer of commercial vehicles from the USA.
George A. Brockway founded the Brockway Motor Truck Company in Cortland in the US state of New York in 1912. It started with the production of trucks. The brand name was Brockway. In 1932 the renamed Brockway Motor Co. Inc.
On October 1, 1956, Mack Trucks took over the company and continued it as a division called Brockway Motor Trucks. Production ended in April 1977.
The first vehicle was a highwheeler with an air-cooled three-cylinder two-stroke engine.
In 1914 it was conventional vehicles with four -cylinder engines from the Continental Motors Company. Liberty Trucks and fire engines were created during the First World War.
In 1919, models with 1.5 tons and 3.5 tons appeared and a fifth tone two years later. In 1925, some four- and six-cylinder engines from Wisconsin were used. In 1928, 5500 vehicles were built.
Between 1933 and 1938, vehicles with electric motors were also built. During the Second World War, the military was made again.
Diesel engines from Cummins and Detroit Diesel were used from the 1960s.
