David Brown Engineering Limited is a British mechanical manufacturing company founded in 1860 by David Brown but developed by his grandson Sir David Brown.
The first tractor project was carried out in 1936 in collaboration with Harry Ferguson and the creation of the Ferguson-Brown brand. Production will not go beyond 1940 because Harry Ferguson prefers to get closer to Henry Ford to work on the range of Fordson tractors and create the Ford series N. tractors.
However, David Brown had started to develop his own model which he launched in 1939: VAK1. During the Second World War, production was oriented towards tractors used to move the planes of the Royal Air Force. The end of the war then marks a strong development of the company linked to the mechanization of agriculture.
In 1947, David Brown bought Aston Martin then Lagonda which he associated and developed. It gives its own DB initials to cars built by Aston Martin and allows the brand to obtain its first sports victories: 24 hours of spa in 1948, 1,000 kilometers from the Nürburgring in 1957, 1958 and 1959, 24 hours of Le Mans in 1959 ... These victories are obtained under the direction of John Wyer with the Carroll Shelby pilots, Roy Salvadori, Stirling Moss ...
The two brands were sold in 1972.
It was also in 1972 that the operational activity was sold in Tenneco Inc. owner of J.I. Case then it was in 1998 that David Brown was acquired in full by Textron. In 2008, Textron announced the sale of activities to Clyde Blowers.

Would you have any knowledge on how I can purchase a service/repair manual for a 1970 David Brown 800 industrial tractor backhoe with 45 hp diesel three cylinder?
