In 1905, the American automobile company REO, specializing in the production of freight and cars, was founded. The founder of the company, Rans Caps, already had experience in conducting affairs in the automotive business, creating earlier the brand "Oldsmobile". Initially, Rance planned to concentrate on the production of trucks for the United States of the United States, simultaneously releasing cars under the Oldsmobile brand, which suffered serious financial difficulties. However, in 1907, the Olds revenge sold the control package of Oldsmobile William Durant, who, subsequently on the basis of the brand, created the General Motors concern.
The prototypes of the first serial passenger models of the REO were represented in 1907, and in 1908, light trucks of stamps equipped with power units with a capacity of up to 35 horsepower saw light. In addition, at the end of 1908, cars for cars created together with the company Brash were represented. It was with the participation of this brand, the production of models such as Runabout, Cole 30, Model M and A. was deployed on the production facilities of REO.
And with the outbreak of World War I, the production of military trucks was launched at the REO factories, and prototypes of aviation engines were also represented, which were launched into mass production during the Second World War, when the REO became the official supplier of the US government .
In 1946, when the economy of the whole world, having freed himself from martial law, gradually began to recover, the company began the production of commercial vehicles, industrial and truck trucks, as well as buses. The first 2 decades, things went well, but by the beginning of the 70s, the Reo began to lose in a competitive struggle, gradually losing demand. And in 1975, the bankruptcy of the company was announced.
